Guidelines for Authors Submitting a Manuscript for Consideration
Submission Requirements
Observe these basic guidelines before sending your manuscript:
- We can accept an electronic or hard copy of your manuscript per the guidelines below:
- For an electronic copy: Microsoft Word, RTF, FrameMaker or text file.
- Send one copy of your manuscript for consideration in
- double-spaced format
- on 8.5 x 11 inch paper (or equivalent)
- with one-inch margins all around
- paragraphs indented five spaces, and
- pages numbered in the upper right hand corner.
- List all sources cited in a reference list at the end of the manuscript. Sources cited in the manuscript should be listed alphabetically by authors' last names. Citations must be complete and should use the Chicago Manual of Style published by the University of Chicago Press. See http://library.osu.edu/sites/guides/chicagogd.html
- Please observe all restrictions when using text, images and artwork that are copyrighted by other authors.
- High resolution artwork and image files (300 ppi) that are to be used in final draft of the document can be presented with your submission as lower resolution files to keep the manuscript file size to a reasonable limit when sending the manuscript via email. Should you need to submit high resolution images with the document, you may consider sending the manuscript via regular mail (on CD).

- book title
- genre
- non-fiction (analysis, biography, history, teaching/education)
- fiction (mystery, novel, poetry, short story)
- word and page count
- age range and gender of primary audience
- synopsis or summary of the work (not to exceed 200 words)
The Review Process
All submitted manuscripts are reviewed by at least two staff members or editors and are treated with confidentiality.
